Intensive PSAT/SAT/ACT Preparation- 1 week / Session
The SAT 1 has changed significantly in 2016. This means that the current freshmen high school students will have to take the changed SAT. The new SAT is geared towards a more “evidence-based” reading, writing, and mathematical questions. The new SAT is expected to focus more on critical thinking and deciphering key pieces of information from graphs, datasets, and passages. Think Prep has redesigned our summer SAT prep courses based on the changes of the new SAT. The redesigned 1-week intensive SAT program focuses on a few important topics. For students who are interested in preparing for the new SAT, we will being by focusing on the SAT writing and English sections to start. We will then move onto teaching effective math skills for the NO calculator math section. In addition to this fundamental prep, we will focus more on data analysis and graph analysis for the mathematics sections with a heavier focus on algebra 1 and algebra 2 curricula.
Intensive SAT Subject Test Preparation - 7 weeks
We offer SAT Subject Test Prep for all math (IC & IIC) and science subjects (Biology, Chemistry, Physics). These classes are recommended for students who have taken at least one semester's worth of their respective test subjects. These classes take place during the weekdays and last 2 hours.
SSAT/SHSAT Preparation- 7 weeks
This class is designed for Middle School and/or High School interested in taking a specialized entrance exam. These classes are rigorous with an initial 3~4-week fundamental sectional focus. The rest of the program is focused on intensive practice and review. The students will be more than well prepped for the October exam.
School Subject Classes- 7 weeks
GPA is one of the most important aspects of the college application process. As such, the classes in the afternoons are designed to prep the students in advance for the upcoming school year. The focus will be on mathematics and science courses as they are linked to SAT 2 and AP exams later on in the school year. The ultimate goal of these classes are to finish at least the first half of the year’s curriculum in advance.
Math & ELA & Stem & Latin- 2 weeks + opt. 1 week /session
This program is a hybrid course for young students that consists of reinforcing fundamental concepts of Math, ELA, and hands-on experience of STEM. This course allows students to become interested in ELA, STEM, & Latin. Throughout this course, students will develop critical, analytical, and creative skills for problem-solving.
College Essay Writing - 7 weeks
This course is a workshop for seniors writing their common application essays. The class will begin with brainstorming ideas and ultimately writing a perfect common application essay. The classes will also continue on after the summer.
